Early Russel Wright for Iroquois Casual coffee pot base or pitcher. Conforming with Wright’s penchant for multi-use pieces, with the lid, this piece became the full-sized coffee pot and without the lid, a full-sized water pitcher. This pitcher or coffeepot base is available in Powder Blue and features a foamy glaze treatment and the tan clay body associated with the Powder Blue glaze. Characterized by irregular glaze application and other factory irregularities such as noticeable glaze misses and glaze pops, the early Iroquois Casual pieces were intended by Wright to mimic studio pottery. This piece is substantial in size, measuring 9 inches from the tip of the spout to the edge of the handle, nearly 6 inches tall, and weighing almost 3 pounds.
